Dexter at Charleston football game cancelled

Dexter school officials learned Wednesday that the scheduled football game Friday night at Charleston has had to be cancelled because of a flu outbreak in the Charleston school system. Charleston notified Dexter school officials that they would be temporarily closing down the school systems because of the high number of students absent with the flu or flu like symptoms. The cancellation has forced the Bearcats to alter their practice routine as they will now be gearing preparations towards the Oct. 9 game at home against Caruthersville. Above, coach Aaron Pixley (squatting in middle) leads his troops in end-of-practice conditioning drills Wednesday afternoon. It was uncertain if the forfeit would be a win for the Bearcats or just a missed game.

If you forfeit a game, doesn't that mean you lose the game?
