June Miller, daughter of the late David Tankersley and Cora Petitt Tankersley was born on Jan. 23, 1928 in Bloomfield and died in the Crowley Ridge Care Center in Dexter on Oct. 1, 2009 at the age of 81.

Mrs. Miller was of the Baptist Faith, a former employee of International Shoe Company, Hamra's Department Store, where she was assistant manager and Coleman's Bar-B-Q and she was a resident of Dexter.

On April 30, 2002 she was united in marriage to Kendall Miller in Piggott, Ark. Mr. Miller survives of their home in Dexter.

Besides her husband she is survived by one daughter, Sandra Katheryn Wimberley of Hartsville, Ala.; by three step-sons, Larry Miller and Kevin Miller, both of Marion, Ill., and Kendall Miller II of Dexter; by four step-daughters, Loretta Anne Gooch of Marion, Ill., Karen Lynn Johnston of St. Louis, June Curtis of Dexter and Sue Phillips of Branson and by many grand and great-grand children.

Visitation will be held at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2009 from 5-8 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2009 at 2 p.m. in the Rainey Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter. Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery with Rev. Kenneth Biggs officiating.
