Helen Sue Taylor, 62, died Sunday, Oct. 18, 2009, at her home in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Sept. 24, 1947, in Sikeston to Glen and Mary Drucille Pixley Ayers.

She and Dr. Philip Taylor were married Saturday, Aug. 8, 1970 at Dexter.

She was a member of St. Vincent De Paul Church. She had been employed in the Jackson school system as a speech pathologist for several years.

Survivors include her husband, Dr. Philip Taylor of Cape Girardeau; three daughters, Sally Powell, and husband, Russell, of Columbia, Bonnie Taylor, of New York, N.Y., Jennifer Jackson and husband, Corey, of Columbia; four brothers, Dennis Ayers and Philip Ayers, both of St. Louis, Neal Ayers of Dexter, and David Ayers of Kansas City; and one sister, Linda Bailiff of Cape Girardeau.

She was preceded in death by her father and a brother, Stephen Ayers.

A funeral mass was held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2009 at St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church in Cape Girardeau with Rev. Saviour officiating.

Memorial contributions may be given to St. Vincent DePaul Church in Cape Girardeau.
