Macel Gipson

Macel Gipson, daughter of the late Everett Coffey and Ora Warren Coffey, was born on Feb. 12, 1919 at Essex and died in the Crowley Ridge Care Center at Dexter on Oct. 21, 2009, at the age of 90.

Mrs. Gipson was a member of the Sweet Prospect General Baptist Church in Dexter, a home-maker, and a resident of Dexter.

She was united in marriage to Marion R. Gipson on April 7, 1940, at Bloomfield. Mr. Gipson preceded her in death on Feb. 24, 2009.

Survivors include three sons, Donald Gipson of Middlebury, Ind., Wayne Gipson of St. Charles and Terry Gipson of Stillwater, Okla.; two brothers, Dale Coffey of Farmington and Jim Coffey of St. Charles; two sisters, Doris Gaylord of Essex and Helen Erickson of Grand Rapids, Mich.; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Gary Gipson; two brothers, Ted Coffey and Lloyd Coffey; and one half-sister, Cecil Titherage.

Visitation will be held at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter from 12:30 until 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 24, 2009.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Kenneth Biggs officiating.

Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
