Eight sentenced to prison on Law Day

The most recent Law Day in Stoddard County was a busy one with eight people being sentenced to prison.

Among them were:

* Brock Chamberlain, charged with violating his probation, appeared and admitted the violations. His probation was revoked and he was sentenced to four years in prison.

* Eric Davis waived arraignment and pled guilty to the Class C felony of possession of a controlled substance. He waived his presentence investigation and was sentenced to seven years in prison.

* Justin Davis waived arraignment and pled guilty to the Class C felony of possession of a controlled substance. He waived his presentence investigation and was sentenced to seven years in prison.

* Whitney Davis waived arraignment and pled guilty to the Class C felony of possession of a controlled substance. She waived her presentence investigation and was sentenced to seven years in prison.

* Frederick Grantham appeared for arraignment and pled guilty to the Class D felony of driving while intoxicated. He waived his presentence investigation and was sentenced to seven years in prison.

* Michael Green appeared for arraignment and pled guilty to the Class B felony of driving while intoxicated. He waived his presentence investigation and was sentenced to seven years in prison. Green also appeared and admitted to violating his probation. He was sentenced to four years in prison on that charge.

* Jamie Nix appeared for arraignment and pled guilty to the Class C felony of possession of a controlled substance. He waived his presentence investigation and was sentenced to four years in prison.

* Mark Wiseman appeared and pled guilty to the Class C felony of stealing . He waived his presentence investigation and was sentenced to four years in prison.

All I can say is WOW! The Judge seems to be stuck on either 4 or 7 years, but I guess he could have gave them the maxium. Or did he? Maybe he just wants to make sure he gets the tax payers of Missouri money's worth. I'm going to be in Dexter next month to visit while my Mom has surgery and it scares me. I don't do drugs or steal and you can bet that I will not drink one beer while I'm there. Some day these judges will be judged and it may be just as harsh.

I have to agree. This is a TOTAL WASTE OF TAXPAYER MONEY!!! Put the murderers, molesters, rapists and terrorists (cowards) away first! I'm totally against drugs, but this is a waste of our money. This must be that idiot Briney Wilborn at work.
