A wreck on Business 60 and Walnut Street near downtown early Friday afternoon resulted in serious injuries to a Dexter man, 67-year-old Donald Robinson. Robinson was a passenger in a Ford truck driven by his wife, Carrie Robinson, when the truck failed to stop at the three-way stop and veered into another pickup before landing on its side on the north side of Business 60 just west of the intersection. While his wife easily exited the truck, Donald Robinson was pinned in the passenger side until the Dexter Fire Department's Extrication Team cut away the roof of the truck's cab and he was extracted from the vehicle. An Air-Evac helicopter landed near the scene and flew Robinson to a Cape Girardeau medical facility for treatment. His wife, who said at the scene that the truck's brakes failed as she approached the intersection, appeared uninjured and refused medical treatment. Shown as the vehicle's roof is cut away are members of Dexter's Fire Dept., Extrication Team, Dexter Police and Stoddard County Ambulance District medical personnel.
