Heroin and pot seized in I55 traffic stop

Tuesday, October 27, 2009
It was learned Monday from the Missouri State Highway Patrol that on Sunday, Oct. 18, 2009 at approximately 6:30 p.m., a member of the Missouri State Highway Patrol stopped a 2006 Chevrolet Impala traveling south on Interstate 55 in Pemiscot County for a traffic violation that resulted in two being arrested on drug charges.

Edward D. Ammons, 29, of Jackson, Miss. was the driver of the vehicle stopped. According to Sgt. Dale Moreland of the Patrol, during the course of the traffic stop, the trooper noticed the odor of burnt marijuana. After consent to search the vehicle was obtained, 1,445 capsules of heroin were found in the coat sleeve of a passenger in the vehicle.

The passenger was identified as William P. Frazier, 27, of Jackson, Miss. Ammons and Frazier were both arrested for possession of marijuana 35 grams or less and trafficking drugs, second degree, and were taken to the Pemiscot County Jail.

Both Ammons and Frazier were released from custody after posting 10 percent of their $50,000 bonds.

I say that much heroin is for sale and therefore a capitol offence. Death or life with no possibility of parole.

So..in good ol Pemiscot County you can have 1,445 doses, hits, shots..or whatever of HEROIN and you post a lousy $5K and your back on the street.

THESE are the kind of PUSHERS/DEALERS that need to be strapped down in jail under the $150K cash- only bond that Stoddard County would have hit them with. Just doesn't seem right there is so much disparity between counties. There is NO WAY these 2 knuckleheads should be back out getting more dope to sell to kids. If you just kneel them down and put a bullet in their head...THAT would be a punishment AND a deterrent.

I have to agree with everyone that posted in front of me. I've been critical of sentences and bails that the judges in Stoddard County have given in the past. But I wish these guys would have got caught in Stoddard County. I bet they would still be in jail. That's where they belong.

I guess an '06 Impala is todays substitute for a gangsta's dream of a '64 Impala.

Nice to see that FINALLY some black people were pulled over on I-55. They usually drive 90mph+ and I've called the highway patrol asking why, but they are scared to answer the obvious racial profile question.

Yes, I'm assuming they were black. If you can prove otherwise, then do so.

Who cares what color a dope distributor is? Green is the only color the Pusher cares about!
