Stoddard County Women's Democratic Club presented their annual Bess Truman Award Friday evening to Peggy Barks (at right) of Dexter. Barks was credited for years of continuing support of the organization's efforts within the county. At left is the 2008 Bess Truman Award recipient, Freida Lee.

Wow! The Bess Truman Award Ought to be renamed Bess Truman Socialist of the Year Award. I mean, really the Democratic Party is nothing more nor less than the Socialist Party of America. Most Democrats in Congress and our Democratic President are socialists! http://www.dsausa.org/pdf/widemsoc.pdf
