I have very little knowledge of computers. I need this explained to me.
I prefer a Mac any day over a PC. Microsoft has us so brainwashed that we need their system, etc...Mac's are much more user friendly.
PC! I'm really not familiar with mac enough.
THIS WILL BE A BORING WEEK.YAWN,COULDN'T YOU COME UP WITH SOMETHING BETTER?
The guy in the suit is "Politicaly Correct", the kid in the jeans and t-shirt works at McDonalds.
I bet they both voted for Obama!
Two smart guys I would say. Never met a Mac so can't comment.
Isn't "Mac" the guy who played in Live Free Die Hard? That was a good movie!
As for the topic...I've played on a Mac at the Apple Store. They are fun, have neat programs, etc. They however are more expensive than a PC. Sooo...I'll stick with my PC!
Haven't really had an opportunity to try out a Mac, although I understand they are fun...however, I have to stick with a PC that supports and runs AutoCAD...
I know this has nothing to do with computers, but the trade publication "Crains auto news" is reporting that Emcon has been sold again. This time to a automotive seating company, Faurecia S.A., a French company. They used to be called Bertran and only supplied seat tracks to seat manufacturers but has been rapidly expanding here in the area north of Detroit.
A friend of mine was the Human Resources person there a few years ago when they were begining to expand into seat manufacturing. She told me of how they went to a seat cushion plant in the Kansa city area telling them they were there to observe, not telling them that Faurecia was buying them and moving their operations.
In the seating operations they put a facility within a couple miles of an assembly plant that they are supplying.
I,m not insinuating anything will change or happen in the Dexter facility but with that plant being union, don't be surprised if it gets moved
up here to Michigan were the unions are being hit hard and incentives from the state are getting high.
If you have ever seen the show "How its made" they do a segment on automotive seating at a Faurecia plant in Pontiac MI.
The question should read PC or Mac b/c that is how you have the two dudes situated in the pic. Or maybe you should have asked Dexterite or Hoon? I'd go with Hoon. His programming is functional with no viruses.
Only place I know where they use Macs on a large scale is the newspaper business, so don't get too insulting, or we'll all be deleted!!!
Trapped - That's scarey news, for sure!
I just had to weigh in on this one. While I was VERY resistant to making the Mac transition when I got into the newspaper business, I don't mind telling you that I wouldn't go back for all the money in the world now.
My main computer is a MacBook laptop that I purchased 3-1/2 years ago. The machine still runs like it did the day I pulled it from the box. I had one small problem with the DVD drive but Apple promptly fixed it and returned it. The computer was gone for less than 72 hours.
I know some of you are as resistant as I was but trust me, give it a chance.
Don't forget the Amiga (and the Amiga Operating System). The Amiga was more sophisticated and user friendly when it debuted in 1985 than Windows 7 is today. The Amiga OS had instant on and off, built in multi-tasking, etc. Video Toaster was the first heavy duty video editing software program for the PC, and it was designed for the Amiga OS because it could process full-screen animated graphics. At that time Microsoft DOS users were dealing with the dot prompt. The current version of the Amiga OS can operate on Macs with the Power PC CPU ... but not the current ones that use an Intel CPU.
Speaking of Intel, has anyone heard the news about Intel today? I heard there is an investigation going on..something about how they are (were) bribing or coercing Microsoft and others to include Intel in their pcs...
