William LeRoy "Bill" Maddox

William LeRoy "Bill" Maddox, the son of the late William Harley and Maude Marie Mitchell Maddox, was born in Dudley on Nov. 17, 1939, and died at the Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau on Monday, Nov. 2, 2009, at the age of 69.

Bill lived his whole life in Dudley and was a member of the Church of Christ in Asherville.

In 1963 Bill was married to Lottie Cantrell, and she died on Dec. 27, 2003. On Oct. 10, 1989, he was married to Jonnie Cantrell in Dexter.

Surviving are his wife, Jonnie Maddox of Dudley; two daughters, Nancy Clayton of Dexter and Melissa Wynkoop of Dudley; seven grandchildren, Shawna Hemby, Kami Maddox, Dustin Maddox, Jeff Bolin, Carmen Bolin, Ashley Ryan, Alexis Clayton; and 10 great-grandchildren; one sister, Eva Lee McGowen of Puxico; and one brother, Bob Maddox of Bowie, Texas. Other relatives and friends also survive.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, Nov. 5, 2009, from 5-8 p.m. at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Puxico.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, Nov. 6, 2009, at 1 p.m. at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Puxico with the Bro. Terry Stockman of Sikeston officiating.

Interment will be in the Rock Hill Cemetery near Puxico with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Puxico in charge of arrangements.
