Don Mack Crouch was born on Dec. 26, 1936 in Marmaduke, Ark. to Olen and Arlie (Campbell) Crouch. He died on Nov. 2, 2009 at the age of 72 in the comfort of his own home in Dexter with family and close friends surrounding him. He was preceded in death by both his parents.
Don married his high school sweetheart, Billie Joyce Ward, on Aug. 30, 1957. Billie survives of the home in Dexter. Also surviving are his four children and their spouses: Penny (Crouch) Korte and Jerry of Metropolis, Ill., Donna (Crouch) Christian and Bobby of Dexter, Jerry Crouch and Ronda of Indianapolis, Ind., and Holly (Crouch) Sindle and Darrell of Dexter.
Don leaves behind 13 grandchildren that he absolutely adored. He had a nickname for each one of them. Surviving grandchildren include: Jeffrey, Jason, and John Wesley Korte, Bobbie (Christian) Robertson, Amanda, Randy, Kelsey, and Abbey Christian, Laura and Joshua Crouch, and Brandon, Baylee, and Benjamin Sindle.
He also leaves behind 11 great-grandchildren-Thomas, Emilee and Hunter Korte, Stoney, Brady and Cody Robertson, and Harley and Hailie Anglin and Elizabeth McGhee. Not yet here, but on the way are Jeremiah Olen Christian and Case Wesley Korte.
Don leaves behind a strong legacy, one of great faith, strong work ethic and a love for Cardinal baseball.
He was a meat cutter for over 20 years until bad health prevailed and he was forced to take on a less physical job. He then proceeded to obtain his insurance license and sold insurance for several years.
Don was a faithful servant to God and was a member of the Dexter Church of Christ.
Visitation will be held at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Thursday evening, Nov. 5, 2009 from 5-8 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday morning, Nov. 6, 2009 at 11 a.m. at the Dexter Church of Christ with Clyde Jacques, Billy Pat Wright and Jim Faughn officiating. Interment will follow in the Harvey Chapel Cemetery at Marmaduke, Ark.
