Pullum attorney withdraws, two others sentenced to prison

Sunday, November 8, 2009
Stoddard County Law Day Wednesday wasn't quite as eventful as it has been in recent weeks, but there were several relevant proceedings.

Chief among those was in the case against a Bloomfield man charged in relation with a Thanksgiving weekend 2008 standoff at his home.

Danny Pullum, 51, had an oral motion heard in his case by his attorney, Robin Phelan Northern, to withdraw from his case.

Pullum, whose trial is scheduled for Dec. 11, was ordered to appear on Nov. 18 with new counsel.

In other court news:

* Kiefer Clay, charged with the Class B felony of manufacturing methamphetamine, withdrew a previous plea of not guilty and entered a guilty plea. He was sentenced to eight years in prison.

* Billy Cunningham, charged with the Class B felony of driving while intoxicated, appeared for arraignment and pled guilty. He was sentenced to eight years in prison.

* Rebekah Greer, charged with the Class C felony of endangering the welfare of a child, appeared for arraignment and pled guilty. She waived her pre-sentence investigation and was sentenced to five years probation with special terms regarding directives of the Juvenile Court and Juvenile Office.

* Joseph Ross, charged with the Class C felony of drug paraphernalia, appeared for arraignment and pled guilty. He was given a four-year suspended sentence and placed on probation for four years.

* Craig Shiver, charged with the Class C felony of endangering the welfare of a child, appeared for arraignment and pled guilty. He was placed on supervised probation for five years with special conditions including following all directives of the Juvenile Court and Juvenile Office.

* John Tate, charged with the Class B felony of possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, appeared for arraignment and pled guilty. He was given an eight year suspended sentence and placed on supervised probation for five years.
