He was retired from Federal Mogul in Malden and was of the Baptist faith.
On Oct. 17, 1966 he was united in marriage to Lydia Ellen Whitaker at Bowling Green, Ky. She survives of the home in Bernie.
He is also survived by two sons, James Robert Clark and wife Connie of Spring Lake, N.C., and Will "Billy" Clark and wife LaShonda of Jackson; by three daughters, Kathy Marie Strange and husband Mark of Spring Lake, N.C., Sandy Lynn McGowen of Bernie, Missouri and Melissa Ann Maldonado and husband Michael of Gilbert, Ariz.; by three brothers, James Clark and wife June of Springfield, Willard Travis Clark of Fayetteville, Tenn. and Ronnie Clark and wife Audrey of Bowling Green, Ky.; by three sisters, Betty Merriman of Fayetteville, Tenn., Peggy Quinn of Indianapolis, Ind., and Rachel Beckert of Jeffersonville, Ind.; by one sister-in-law, Frances Clark of Lynchburg, Tenn.; by 16 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Donna Mae Clark; one brother, Troy Clark; and by two sisters, Linda Sedam and Ruth Evelyn Quinn.
Visitation will be held at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie from 5-8 p.m. with a Masonic Service being conducted starting at 7 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 8, 2009.
Funeral services will be conducted in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie on Monday, Nov. 9, 2009 at 1 p.m. with Rev. Johnny Meese and Rev. Phil Roop officiating. Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
