I NEVER get enough pumpkin pie!
Well, this topic isn't going well, is it?
Since losing my dear wife 3 years ago the holiday season has lost a lot of joy for me. This was always a special time of the year for her and I really miss the good times. Cooking, baking, family get-togethers, all a memory now.
YES, GL!! Pumpkin Pie is indeed yummy!!! Since it is now the politically correct phrase, shouldn't it be Holiday Season -- capitalized like Christmas?
Oh, no, surely "Thanksgiving" wouldn't be politically incorrect, since it has no connotation of Christianity!
How sad, Dexterite. I felt the same way after my husband died, but since then, my children and siblings have helped keep the season bright.
Yes gl, it'll be fine but life is never the same and I suppose that's the way it always has been. Folks can't say "I know how you feel' but unless they have walked this path there are many unknowns. We'll survive, we must, enjoy everyday to the fullest and don't take too many things too serious, especially politics and religion.
Dex, I know how you feel...daughter, not spouse, but yeah, I know.
Barbara, I'm sorry for your loss.
Right back at you, my friend. The holidays are still good and I enjoy the season, but the innocence has been lost. However, perhaps because of that, I take nothing for granted and savor every second of life. I am blessed in so many ways. I pray for you the peace that goes beyond understanding and hope that you will be filled to overflowing.
