Dexter man charged with child molestation

Tuesday, November 24, 2009
A Dexter man was arrested late last week on child molestation charges.

Patrick R. Autry, 29, is accused of molesting an eight-year-old girl at his home in Dexter.

According to the incident report filed by Lt. Charles Sanders of the Dexter Police Department, the girl asked if she could stay the night with Patrick who was a longtime friend of her father, and was allowed to do so.

The girl's parents stated she had stayed the night with him approximately three times prior to this incident, the most recent being the week before Halloween.

Autry reportedly took the girl to school the following morning and upon arriving home, she told her parents that he had touched her in what was reported to be an "inappropriate manner."

Her parents then immediately contacted the police.

"[The victim] also stated that Patrick told her to keep it a secret or they would go to jail," Sanders wrote in the report.

There is still an ongoing investigation following the execution of a search warrant on Autry's home at 524 N. Poplar and more charges could potentially be filed.

Autry is charged with the Class B felony of child molestation in the first degree. He is scheduled to appear for arraignment Wednesday, Nov. 25 before Judge Joe Satterfield.

He is currently being housed in the Stoddard County Jail in lieu of a $100,000 cash-only bond.

I went to school w/ this guy...in, fact, I lived around the corner from him...and though I'm not saying he was a completely bad person...he was quite odd...and this actually doesn't surprise me. I just hope it's not true...for the sake of the little girl in question.

I hope it aint true but I suspect it is based on the report. If it is, Charlie Daniels has some good advice for the creep! http://www.charliedaniels.com/soapbox-20...

I say hang him first! While he's hanging, do what Charlie Daniels suggests!

I've always liked Charlie Daniels,gr8 singer & wise man.If my kids were abused,I'm afraid I would do much more than that.

Hmm See all this time I thought I was in America where unless I'm mistaken you are innocent until proven otherwise. So lets just hang somone without actually giving a fair trial because if it was you thats what you'd want right?

Well that's sad. The poor girl has had one crappy introduction to the real world at the hands of that malodorous pervert.

Perhaps not coincidentally one of his best friends was imprisoned for the same thing years ago. I won't say his name since he's done his time and is presumably on the offender list...

On the other hand, who in the world let's their eight year old daughter stay the night with a grown man, especially a weirdo like Patrick?

Also, how is $100k bond even slightly on par with the bonds given out for drugs in this county? People minding their own business, destroying their own body, can get bonds higher than this jerk.

anyone can say anything against you, you have to prove innocent, it doesn't work anymore innocent until proven quity, you are quilty until u can prove yourself innocent. hope he didn't do anything to the girl, if he did he belong's in prison. but some people make false statement's.

The Missouri Children's Division statistics show that 90% of children who were found to be victims of abuse ( including sexual abuse) are abused by someone they know well or are related to and someone they trust. These children are also told by their abuser " not to tell or something will bad will happen" to them or their parents. When a child reports any form of abuse it MUST be investigated otherwise the cycle of abuse could continue until that child is grown and left with the scars for life.

IF(if) he is guilty let's hope that it wakes some peoples eyes(lawmakers) to the fact that THIS type of sexual orintition never changes, just like being gay or being attracted to "big" girls.

Innocent until proven guilty. That seems to be a passing statement and law. One thing we need to do is do a complete investigation. It seems as thought some of our law enforcement in this location wants to make a name for themselves rather than do their duty. I have never seen so many cases as we have at this time. I'm not saying this doesn't go on. I do however think there are cases whereby touches may not be meant as such and are said to be. All it takes is the statement, "He touched me there", when it may have been by other reasons it happened. If he is guilty, then he needs to serve his time. If not, then the talking needs to stop.

And what really boils me over is the fact that he lives right across from our church on Poplar Street. Here's a prayer for him: Psalm 109:

"6Set thou a wicked man over him: and let Satan stand at his right hand.

7When he shall be judged, let him be condemned: and let his prayer become sin.

8Let his days be few; and let another take his office.

9Let his children be fatherless, and his wife a widow.

10Let his children be continually vagabonds, and beg: let them seek their bread also out of their desolate places.

11Let the extortioner catch all that he hath; and let the strangers spoil his labour.

12Let there be none to extend mercy unto him: neither let there be any to favour his fatherless children.

13Let his posterity be cut off; and in the generation following let their name be blotted out.

14Let the iniquity of his fathers be remembered with the LORD; and let not the sin of his mother be blotted out.

15Let them be before the LORD continually, that he may cut off the memory of them from the earth.

16Because that he remembered not to shew mercy, but persecuted the poor and needy man, that he might even slay the broken in heart."

Let him hang until the sun goes down!

As Jesus; He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone. John 8:7.

Please delete the Bible quotes, it offends me. Even though I think pedophiles should die by impaleing.

Offends you? May God have mercy on your soul.

Unless you are selected as a member of the jury, presented with all the facts, you should limit your condemnation to the sin. If you are selected, may your heart seek only the truth of guilt or innocence.

This child has made an accusation that has yet to be proven. That proof can not, and will not come without the earnest seeking of the facts. That is why Patrick is currently in jail awaiting a hearing and most likely a trial. This is as it should be based on the heinous nature of the charges against him. But this in no way, shape, fashion or form constitutes guilt. It is only a charge, not an admission of guilt.

Regardless of the truth of her statement, the little girl involved needs your prayers. If the accusations are true then she needs Christ's healing hands in her life, if they are not she needs His strength to find her own strength and courage to tell the truth before she ruins a man's life forever.

Christians, regardless of his guilt or innocence Patrick needs your prayers. If innocent he is living his only private hell and needs your support. If he's guilty his hell on earth will be endless. His only hope at salvation is through the message you are charged with sharing with him.

For my sister from the church across the street: I'm sure your congregation has sought to apply God's healing hands upon both families. You failed to mention that as your fingers tapped out evil thoughts. Surely, if you are a true church you have reached out in His love and mercy... Right? As I'm sure you are also familiar with Romans 1:29-31 which says, "Filled with all kinds of unrighteousness, evil, lusts, malice and loaded with envy, murderous intentions, discord, deceit, sinister designs, [they] speak malicious gossip, slander others, hate God, despise others, are haughty, shoot out big talk, scheme evil deeds, disobey parents, and are ignorant, dishonest, apathetic, merciless." Do you see anyone you know. It takes more than quoting versus to be a Christian, and the misuse of His words, His spirit, and His love lead me to believe you have heard His words and missed his message. I will pray for you as well.

Romans 2-1, "Therefore, o all of you who pass judgment on others, you have no room for excuse. As you pass judgment on someone else, you are actually condemning yourself in sin; for, as you judge a person, you are doing the same things as well,"

I agree with you FriarTuck. And I hope that if it is found that Patrick is innocent of the charges that swift has the quts to walk across the street and apologize to him. If he is not I will support whatever punishment is set down. As of now only three people know the truth GOD, Patrick and the little girl. I know most of us want to beleive a child would not make this up but we must be sure so it does not ruin two lives. Because I am pretty sure if a person went to jail because of a lie the little girl would probably suffer later (mentally) for doing it, thereby ruining two lives. To mrsdolphin if we thought all the people we went to school who in our eyes were strange were convicted on a crime based on that most of us would be in jail.

robykid, I said it wouldn't surprise me. Look at Curtis Holmes. He had the exact same personality traits as Patrick, and he's in jail for the same crap. I've known some weird people, but none of them compared to the one's like Curtis and Patrick.

PLEASE PEOPLE, PLEASE TELL ME WHY A MOTHER AND DAD WOULD LET A YOUNG CHILD SPEND THE NIGHT WITH A GROWN MAN ALONE. NOW SHE HAS TO LIVE WITH THIS TERRIBLE THING THE REST OF HER LIFE.NO MATTER WHAT THEY DO TO HIM, SHE WILL ALWAYS BE A VICTIM. MAY GOD BLESS HER AS ONLY HE CAN.
