Daisy Ruth Schaefer

Daisy Ruth Schaefer, daughter of the late Henry Ray Miskell and Berna Reeves Blankenship, was born on Sept. 30, 1927, in Parma and died on Friday, Dec. 25, 2009, in Golden Living Center at Dexter at the age of 82.

Mrs. Schaefer was a member of the Sugar Tree General Baptist Church and a former resident of Bernie currently residing in Dexter.

On Sept. 21, 1946, she was united in marriage to Harold Schaefer. Mr. Schaefer preceded her in death on Oct. 21, 1987.

She is survived by two sons, Robert H. Schaefer of Thomasville, N.C., and Jackie L. Schaefer of Dexter; three daughters, Sandy Kay Leonard of Arnold, Linda Sue Schaefer of St. Louis, and Sherry Ruth Williams of Dexter; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Paul Miskell, Irvil Bud Miskell and Charles Miskell; and two sisters, Pansy Reece and Agnes Corlew.

Visitation was held from 5-8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 28, 2009, at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.

Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2009, in Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter with Rev. Dean Williams officiating.

Interment followed in the Bernie Cemetery.
