Myrtle Flora Smith, daughter of the late George Lee and Minnie Pearl Alexander Matthews, was born Feb. 13, 1919, in Bernie and died at Golden Living Center in Bloomfield on Monday, Jan. 11, 2010, at the age of 90.
Mrs. Smith had lived in Bloomfield area all her life, She was a member of the Church of Christ.
On Nov. 9, 1935, she was married to Kermit Alvin Smith in Puxico. He preceded her in death on Nov. 28, 1999.
Surviving are one son, Ray Smith of Festus; one daughter, Doris Barnes of Dexter; three granddaughters; one grandson; two step-grandsons; one step-granddaughter; seven great-grandsons; two great-granddaughters; three step-great-grandsons; two step-great-granddaughters; one great-great-grandson; one sister, Wilma Spickelmier of Washington; and one brother, Ralph Leon Matthews of Grandin.
Other relatives and friends also survive.
Preceding her in death was one daughter, Delores Mae Smith; two sisters, Willa Lee and Betty June Matthews; and one brother, George Lee Matthews, Jr.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2010, at Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield,
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 14, 2010, at Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Bro. Dale Grissom of Dexter officiating
Interment will follow in the Bloomfield Cemetery with Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield in charge of arrangements,
