Bobby Woods, son of the late Zannie and Lula Pemberton Woods, was born in Wardell on April 5, 1941, and died at his home near Dexter on Jan. 21, 2010, at the age of 68.
He had lived in the Clarkton and Dexter areas all of his life. He was of the Pentecostal religion. He was the owner of Woods Sanitation for many years.
In September 1963, he was married to Betty Ammons in Immokale, Fla.
Surviving are his wife, Betty Woods of Dexter; two daughters, Sondra Taylor of Jackson and Paula Johnson of Easton; two grandchildren, Jennifer Dowdy of Essex and Tommy Johnson of Easton; two great-grandchildren, Dalton McKinnie and Landon Maddox, both of Essex; one nephew; and several nieces. Other relatives and friends survive. He was preceded in death by one sister, Betty Hall.
Visitation will be Saturday, Jan. 23, 2010, from 5-8 p.m. at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.
