Marlene Elizabeth Owens, daughter of the late Hobert Voss and Sybil Coffman Voss, was born on Oct. 11, 1933, at Parkdale, Ark. and died in Cypress Point Healthcare in Dexter on Jan. 21, 2010 at the age of 76.

Mrs. Owens was a homemaker, a member of Sunnyvale General Baptist Church of rural Malden and was a resident of Bernie.

She was united in marriage to Bill Lewis Owens in Pontiac, Michigan on Nov. 12, 1952. Mr. Owens survives of the home in Bernie.

Survivors include one son, Ronnie Lewis Owens and wife Terri of Bernie; two daughters, Darlene Young and Marilyn Annette Owens, both of Bernie, Missouri; three brothers, Bill Voss of Sanford, N.C, Bob Voss of Boyce, La., and William Voss of Wappapello; one sister, Gevauna Maddox of Dexter; five grandchildren, Valerie Crow, Jennifer Neuhaus, Jared Brown, Wesley Owens and Preston Owens; three great-grandchildren, Karsyn, Carter and Chloe; also by other family and many friends.

She was preceded in death other than by her parents, by one son in infancy, Stephen Lewis Owens; two brothers, Hobert M. Voss and Carl Voss; and one sister, Mary George.

Visitation will be held at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie from 5-8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 22, 2010.

Funeral services will be conducted in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Bernie on Saturday morning, Jan. 23, 2010, at 11 a.m. with Rev. James Hamlett officiating.

Interment will follow in the Bernie Cemetery.
