Glenda Fay Seagraves

Glenda Fay Seagraves, 61, died Friday, Jan. 22, 2010, at her home in Rector, Ark.

She was born in Arcola on Aug. 17, 1948, the daughter of the late Roswell and Mona Mae "Sits" Bess. She was of the Baptist faith and a caregiver. She graduated from Bell City High School.

Glenda was married to Jack Dean Seagraves in 1976, and he preceded her in death on Dec. 9, 2007.

Survivors include one brother, Earl Bess of Cape Girardeau; three sisters, Era Mae Mason of Sikeston, Wanda Rayles of Kokomo, Ind., and Coleene McCormick of Zenia, Ill.; special neighbor and friends, J.T. and Evalean Cobb; and many nieces and nephews too numerous to name.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Steve Bess and E.G. Bess; five sisters, Virginia Allen, Lula Belle Bess, Remona Sue Bess, Dorothy Phegley, and Barbara Gail Bess.

Visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. - 12 noon on Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2010, in the Chapel of the Irby Funeral Home in Rector, Ark.

Funeral services will follow beginning at 1 p.m. with interment in Woodland Heights Cemetery.
