Helping hands

When the word was put out for area churches and/or organizations to assist the victims of the Haiti earthquake, the Festival of Sharing organization answered the call with hundreds of kits being turned in at Dexter's First United Methodist Church, one of many drop off points for collection. Donations in the form of hygiene kits and layettes were picked up late Wednesday afternoon by representatives of the Southeast District for Volunteer Missions. Jim Mills (second from left) serves as Southeast District Coordinator for Disaster Relief, assisted by Gary Johnson (at right).
