Alice J. Stark of Perryville died Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010 at Independence Care Center of Perry County. She was 79.

She was born in Bollinger County on June 26, 1930, daughter of the late Albert and Myrtle A. (Conrad) Yount. She was married on May 5, 1951, to Conway E. Stark who preceded her in death on April 9, 1996.

Survivors include two sons, Kenneth (Lisa) Stark and Alan (Brenda) Stark, all of Perryville; one daughter, Janice (Randy Joseph) Hoffman of Dexter; one sister, Ruth Smith of Camdenton; seven grandchildren, Kellen P. Stark, Conner E. Stark, Angela M. Sauer, Matthew A. Stark, Kristi L. Boles, Julie A. Hoffman and Cory G. Hoffman; and three great-grandchildren, Haley DuBois, Ryder Boles and Peyton Boles.

Mrs. Stark had been an insurances sales representive supervisor for Royal Neighbors of America Insurance Co. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, (PCC) Perryville Country Club and Ladies Golf Association, co-organizer of PCC Ladies Golf Association, an avid golfer, past Girl and Boy Scout Leader and American Legion Post 133 Ladies Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Everett Yount; and four sisters, Lulu Glass, Mildred Fischer, Mary Kathryn Ochs and Ollie Yount.

Memorials are preferred to Immanuel Lutheran School Building Fund or American Cancer Society.

Visitation was held on Monday, February 8, 2010, from 4 - 8 p.m. and on Tuesday from 6:30 a.m. until time of service at 10 a.m. with Rev. Matthew Marks officiating.

Funeral Service for Mrs. Stark was held at Young & Sons Funeral Home in Perryville on Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2010, at 10 a.m.

Burial followed in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Perryville
