Margaret Louise Shafer Corzine, daughter of the late Arthur and Euphemia Baird Ruckle, was born in St. Louis on Dec. 13, 1929, and died at the Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau on Thursday, Feb.11, 2010, at the age of 80.

She had lived in the Dexter area for the last 30 years moving here from Flint, Mich. She was a member of the Faith Fellowship Full Gospel Church.

She was married to Arthur Lee Shafer, Sr. He preceded her in death in 1962. She was married to Jimmie D. Corzine, Sr. on Sept. 9, 1988, and he preceded her in death on April 21, 2007

Surviving are five sons and daughters-in-law, Arthur Lee, Jr and Cathie Corning-Shafer of Durand, Mich., Richard and Liz Shafer of Swartz Creek, Mich., John and Loretta Shafer of Montrose, Mich., Thomas Shafer of Burton, Mich., and Tim Shafer of Dexter; two daughters and sons-in-law, Janet and Rick Garcia of Columbia, Tenn., and Donna DeKruger of Mesa, Ariz.; 19 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. Other relatives and friends survive. She was preceded in death by one sister Janet Brewer; one grandson, Richie Shafer; and one granddaughter, Althea Shafer.

Visitation will be Saturday, Feb. 13, 2010, from 5-8 p.m. at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.

Services will be held Sunday, Feb. 14, 2010, at 2 p.m. in the Faith Fellowship Full Gospel Church in Dexter with the Rev. Karen Oldham of Dexter officiating.

Interment will be in the Armstead Dowdy Cemetery near Dexter with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
