Edward Ray Mooney, son of the late A. F. Mooney and Dovie Ham-Jones Mooney was born in Blytheville, Ark., on June 22, 1925, and died in Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter on March 3, 2010 at the age of 84.

Mr. Mooney was a veteran of the United States Army having served during World War II, had been a bus driver for Bernie Public Schools for over 33 years and was a resident of Bernie.

Survivors include one son, Edward Thomas Mooney of St. Charles; one daughter, Debbie Lynn Barnes of Bernie; one brother, J. W. Mooney of Edwardsville, Ill.; five grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death other than by his parents, by two brothers, Howard Mooney and Luther Mooney; four sisters, Sue Walker, Louise Earnest, Lucille Young and Odie Parker.

Visitation will be held at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, March 4, 2010.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 5, 2010 in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel.

Interment will follow in the Bernie Cemetery.
