Patsy Nephler Smith, 67, of Rockwood, Tenn., died Tuesday, March 2, 2010, in Roane Medical Center in Harriman, Tenn.

Born Nov. 1, 1942, in Bernie, she was the daughter of Chester A. and Velta Whitehead Gough. She was of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by her father, Chester Gough; a sister, Annis Clark; and a daughter, Samantha L. Nephler.

Survivors in addition to her mother include her husband, Alvin T. Smith; a son, Clarence J. Nephler, IV; a brother and sister-in-law, Gary and Sandy Gough; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Linda and Murray Heisler and Janis Jackson; six step-children and four spouses, James D. and Lisa Smith, Lisa and Edwin Padgett, Tina and Chris Wallace, Pitoni and Lynette Smith, Alvin Smith, Jr. and Tracey Westmoreland; numerous brothers and sisters-in-law.

Memorial services and receiving of friends was held from 1-3 p.m. Saturday, March 6, 2010, in Evans Mortuary in Rockwood, Tenn. Cremation arrangements were being made.
