Elsa Smith, daughter of the late Letcher F. Shearon and Bertha Hartley Shearon, was born on March 12, 1914 at Grayridgei and died in the Grace Healthcare of Cordova at Cordova, Tenn. on March 9, 2010 at the age of 95.

Mrs. Smith was a member of the Presbyterian Church, a member of the Dexter Order of Eastern Star Chapter # 511, a former member of the Dexter Hospital Auxiliary for 20 years, the former owner of Smith and Son Grocery in Dexter, a former resident of Dexter and current resident of Cordova, Tenn.

She was united in marriage to Walter C. Smith on Sept. 26, 1934 at Kennett. Mr. Smith preceded her in death on April 19, 1997.

Survivors include one son, Dr. Donald C. Smith of Johnston, R.I.: by two daughters, Sharon Longarini of Naperville, Ill. and Frances Alderson of Bartlett, Tenn.; by eight grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Visitation will take place at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 13, 2010. An Eastern Star Service will then be conducted at 1 p.m. Graveside services will then be conducted at 2 p.m.. in the Dexter Cemetery.
