Margaret Marie Killmer Asbell

Margaret Marie Killmer Asbell, daughter of the late Virgil Ezra Killmer and Rhoda Jane Rankin Killmer, was born on April 17, 1928, at Pyletown and died in her residence at Dexter on March 14, 2010 at the age of 81.

She was a member of the First Church Of God in Dexter, a former employee of the International Shoe Company and the Elder Manufacturing Company, both in Dexter, and a resident of Dexter.

Mrs. Asbell enjoyed walking, working in her yard and going to yard sales. She loved spending time with her family and friends.

She was united in marriage to Alfred R. Asbell on June 1, 1946, at Bloomfield. Mr. Asbell preceded her in death on Sept. 10, 1980.

Survivors include one son, Rodney Asbell and wife, Kay of Dexter; one daughter, Vickie McClard and husband, Curtis of Dexter; two granddaughters, LaRhonda Billingsley and husband, David of Dexter and Kristi Hockman of Dexter; three great-grandchildren, Victoria Hockman, Eric Billingsley and Aaron Billingsley; one brother, Vaughn Killmer of Herculaneum; one sister, Beatrice Edwards of Whittemore, Mich.; a very special friend, Aaron Davison of Dexter; several nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Chester Killmer.

Visitation will be held at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter from 5-8 p.m. on Monday, March 15, 2010.

Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 16, 2010, in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Leonard Madigan officiating.

Interment followed in the Chalk Bluff Cemetery near Dexter.
