Terry Joe Bass, 48, of Jackson died Monday, March 22, 2010, at his home.

He was born Jan. 5, 1962, in Chaffee, to Joe E. and Clara Conklin Bass. He and Linda Hunt were married July 10, 1987, in Cape Girardeau.

Bass worked for Berlex Laboratories 15 years and then for Novartis Pharmaceuticals eight years.

He was very active in area youth sports. He was president of SEMO Hockey League five years, served as a founding board member of JAYFA in Jackson, coached baseball in Cape Girardeau and Jackson, and was involved with Boy Scouts.

Terry was an avid Cardinals, Mizzou and Notre Dame Regional High School sports fan. He attended Hobbs Chapel United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Bass of Jackson; a daughter, Morgan Bass of Jackson; two sons, Ryan Bass of Kansas City, and Jordan Bass of Jackson; and his parents, Joe E. and Clara Bass of Jackson.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Toby Bass.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 24, 2010, at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Jackson, with Brother David Migliorino officiating. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be given to Notre Dame Regional High School.
