Connie Hankins, daughter of the late Ed and Edna Russell Layton, was born Dec. 6, 1938, in Bloomfield and died at the Golden Living Center in Bloomfield on April 2, 2010, at the age of 71.
Mrs. Hankins had lived in Bloomfield all her life.
She was a member of the Link Church near Bloomfield.
She was retired from Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter where she had worked in Environmental Services.
On March 24, 1954, she was married to Tommy Joe Hankins in Bloomfield. He preceded her in death on Feb. 20, 2006.
Surviving are two sons, Tom & Joe Hankins both of Bloomfield; three grandchildren; three great grandchildren: two sisters, Virgiinia Cossey of Dexter and Dorothy White of Bloomfield; one brother, Charles Layton of Tonganoxie, Kansas; and her life long friend, Gladys Holford of Bloomfield. Other relatives and friends also survive.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Leoid Layton.
Visitation will be held Monday, April 5, 2010, after 10 a.m. at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield. Funeral services will be on Monday, April 5, 2010, at 11 a.m. in the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield with the Rev. Mike Kohlbaker of Dexter and Rev. Michael Schaeffer of Bloomfield officiating.
Interment will be in the Walker Cemetery in Bloomfield with Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield in charge of arrangements.
