Pauline Meade, daughter of the late Leslie Lee Mead and Zadie Ida Lincycomb Mead, was born on Oct. 20, 1925, in Shirley, Ark., and died in the Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter on April 10, 2010, at the age of 84.

Pauline was a member of the First Baptist Church of Dexter where she was a member of the Mary Magdalene Sunday School Class, a former restaurant manager, and a resident of Dexter.

She had been in bad health for several years and had been lovingly cared for by her nieces, Yvonne Morley and Teri Owens, and was most recently a resident of Cypress Point Skilled Care Center.

Survivors include one sister, Patricia Barber of Duncanville, Texas; one sister-in-law, Lorraine Mead of Hickory Hills, Ill.; numerous nieces; nephews; other relatives; and close friends.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Flora Frost, Connie Silliman-Lott and Norma Hawes; and three brothers, J. W. Mead, Carl E. Mead and Carmen Mead.

Visitation will be held at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter from 1-2:30 p.m., Monday, April 12, 2010.

Funeral services will then be conducted at 2:30 p.m. in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Dr. Steve Easterwood officiating.

Interment will follow in the Smith-Stevenson Cemetery.
