Brenda Kay Scowden, daughter of the late Paul and Stella Hester Lee, was born June 30, 1948, in Aquilla and died at her home in St. Charles on April 13, 2010, at the age of 61.

Mrs. Scowden had lived in Aquilla before moving to St. Charles in 1969. She attended the First General Baptist Church in St. Charles.

On August 30, 1969, she was married to Lester Scowden in Aquilla

Surviving are her husband, Lester Scowden of St. Charles; two sons and daughter-in-law, Kevin Wayne Scowden of St. Charles and Eric Lee and Janet Scowden of Wentzville; two sisters, Shirley Walker of St. Charles and Janet Owens of Bloomfield. Other relatives and friends also survive.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 15, 2010, after 11 a.m. at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield.

Funeral services will be on Thursday, April 15, 2010, at 1 p.m. in the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield with the Rev. Roy Stanfill of St. Charles officiating.

Interment will be in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield with Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield in charge of arrangements.
