Samuel Storey, son of the late Samuel Louis and Bertie Marler Storey, was born in Fisk on Jan. 10, 1928, and died at the Golden Living Center in Bloomfield on April 13, 2010, at the age of 82.

He had lived in the Fisk and Dexter area most of his life.

On July 10, 1953, he was married to Mary Alice Hodge in Michigan. She preceded him in death on Aug. 5, 2002.

Surviving are one daughter, Deborah Ann Weatherly of Springfield; two grandchildren, Monica Weatherly of Chattanooga, Tenn., and Russell Weatherly III of Ozark. Other relatives and friends survive.

Visitation was held on Friday, April 16, 2010, after 1 p.m. at Watkins & Sons Funeral Service in Dexter.

Services were conducted Friday, April 16, 2010, at 2:30 p.m. in the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter with Rev. Kenneth Biggs of Dexter officiating.

Interment followed in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield with full military honors. Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter was in charge of arrangements.
