Richard O. Hardin, Sr., son of the late Albert Louis and Lola Mae Owens Hardin, was born in Blytheville, Ark., on Dec. 3, 1932, and died at the Golden Living Center in Bloomfield on April 28, 2010, at the age of 77.

Mr. Hardin had lived in Bloomfield the past 48 years. He was retired from SEMO Electric Cooperative where he had worked as the branch manager. He was a member of the Baptist Church and the Bloomfield Masonic Lodge #153.

On July 3, 1964, he married Mary Alice Rhodes in Bloomfield.

Surviving are his wife, Mary Alice Hardin of Bloomfield; one daughter, Beverly Greer of Lebanon, Tenn.; one son, Richard O. Hardin, Jr. of Bloomfield; two grandchildren; two sisters, Patsy Myers of Cottage Hills, Ill., and Peggy Maxwell of Blytheville, Ark. Other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by two grandchildren and two half-brothers.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 30, 2010, from 5-8 p.m. at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield. Masonic services will be held at 7 p.m.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 1, 2010, at 11 a.m. at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield with the Rev. Greg Stevens of Bloomfield officiating.

Interment will be in the Bloomfield Cemetery with Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield in charge of arrangements.
