Randy Lee Farmer, 41, of Washington, formerly of St. Clair, died in St. Louis on Thursday, April 22, 2010. Randy was born in Poplar Bluff on March 7, 1969, son of Robert Burdett Farmer and Frances Irene Farmer nee Richard. On May 24, 2004, he was united in marriage to Janice Ann Shelton.

Randy is survived by his wife, Janice Farmer of Washington; three step- children, Mitchell Shelton of Desloge and Jessica Hummel and Cory Hummel of Washington; two step-grandchildren, Raegan Shelton of Desloge and Dominic Lause of Washington; his mother, Frances Farmer of St. Clair; his mother-in-law, Rosalie Kluesner of Washington; two brothers, Robert Farmer and wife Judy and Charles Farmer and his wife, Jeanie, all of St. Clair; one sister, Vickey VanNess and husband Matt of St. Clair; brothers; sisters-in-law; aunts; uncles; nieces; nephews; great-nieces and nephews; cousins; other relatives; and many friends.

Randy was preceded in death by his father, Robert Burdett Farmer. Randy was a Christian who was baptized at a young age in the Baptist faith. He enjoyed many hobbies and interests during his life; but fishing and hunting, especially with his brothers, were his favorite. Above all else, spending time with his family made Randy the happiest, and many wonderful memories were created.

A kind and loving husband, step-father, step-grandfather, son-in-law, brother, brother-in-law, nephew, uncle, great-uncle, cousin and friend, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved him.

Visitation was held from 3-8 p.m. Monday, April 26, 2010, at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair and from 12 noon until 2 p.m. on Tuesday, April 27, 2010, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.

Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 27, 2010, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter with Rev. Jamie Jones officiating.

Interment followed in the Caroline Dowdy Cemetery in Dexter.
