Earnest E. Clark, son of the late Charles A. Clark and Eliza Evalee Martin Clark, was born on Nov. 7, 1942, in Dahlgren, Ill., and died on May 2, 2010, at his residence in Essex at the age of 67.

Mr. Clark was the owner and operator over-the-road truck driver and a resident of rural Essex.

On Dec. 4, 1969, he was united in marriage to Shirley J. Dailey in Sycamore, Ill. Mrs. Clark survives of the home in rural Essex.

Besides his wife, other survivors include seven sons, James Clark of Opdyke, Ill., Timothy Clark of Cortland, Ill., Noland Clark of Essex, John Hurley Clark of Cortland, Ill., Dennis Clark of Sikeston, Porter W. Clark of De Kalb, Ill., and Paul Clark of Morehouse; two daughters, Deane Clark of Belle Rive, Ill., and Sandra Clark of Morehouse; one brother, Richard Clark of Mt. Vernon, Ill.; four sisters, Maxine Brake of McLeansboro, Ill., Nadine Tucker of Benton, Ill., Alma Lowery of Opdyke, Ill., and Phyllis Hollingsworth of Opdyke, Ill.; 24 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Calvin James Clark; and one brother, Bobby Clark.

Visitation was held at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter from 12:30 until 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 4, 2010.

Funeral services were then conducted on Tuesday, May 4, 2010, at 2 p.m. in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. James Malloy officiating
