Ruth Gisi, daughter of the late Johnnie Warren and Lena Causey Warren was born on Dec. 20, 1922, near Essex and died in the Missouri Delta Medical Center at Sikeston on May 4, 2010 at the age of 87.

Mrs. Gisi was a member of the Olive Branch General Baptist Church in Essex, Missouri, but at the time of her death, she attended Mount Gilead General Baptist Church in Bloomfield.

She was a member of the Gideon's International Auxiliary since July 1979 , a former clerk at Dexter Memorial Hospital, a home-maker and resident of rural Essex.

On June 3, 1944 in Piggott, Ark., she was united in marriage to Raymond Gisi. Mr. Gisi preceded her in death on Nov. 16, 1999.

Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law; Ann and Everett Hessling of Dexter, Lynne and Roger Cooper and Ramona and Rick Roberts, both of Essex; one grandson and wife, Andy and Amy Roberts of Dexter; four granddaughters and husbands, Leigh Ann and Darren Kincy of Dexter, April and Jerry Lewis of Metropolis, Ill., Jodie and Randy Williams of Dexter and Jill Roberts of Essex; eight great-grandchildren, Hannah, Ethan, Joshua, Mia, Drew, Korbin, Jacob and Emma: by one sister, Pauline Gisi of Essex.

Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Oscel Warren.

Visitation will be held at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter from 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 5, 2010.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 6, 2010, in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Rick Roberts and Everett Hessling officiating.

Interment will follow in the Taylor Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Gideons International, Alzheimers Association or to the American Cancer Society.
