Carl Lee Roberts, son of the late Otto Henry Roberts and Rhoda Flanigan Roberts was born on April 6, 1924 in Corning, Arkansas and departed this life at his residence in Dexter, Missouri on May 16, 2010 at the age of 86 years.

Mr. Roberts, was a charter member and Deacon of the Lilbourn General Baptist Church in Lilbourn, Missouri., a Farmer, and currently a member of the Second General Baptist Church in Dexter. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

On February 4, 1943 he was united in marriage to Ella Eloise Crawley. His wife preceded him in death on December 8, 1996 after 53 years of marriage. He later married Barbara Jo Ann Crutchley on October 24, 1998 in Dexter, Missouri. Mrs. Roberts survives of the home in Dexter.

Other survivors include three sons, Carl Roberts Jr. and wife Linda of South Dakota, Danny Roberts and wife Mary Jane of Jackson, Tennessee, and Michael Roberts and wife Paula of Lilbourn, Missouri; by four daughters, Diane Warren and husband Larry of Dexter, Cathy Davis and husband Elgin of St. Louis, Missouri, Donna Sue Belcher and husband Bruce of Dexter, Cheryl Lasater and husband Michael of Dexter; one step-son, Joel Crutchley and wife Sheila of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; one step-daughter, Sue Somerville and husband Dave of Knoxville, Tennessee; by five brothers, Otto Roberts of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, Norman Roberts of Dexter, Frank Roberts of Jackson, Missouri, Johnny Roberts of St. Charles, Missouri, and Darel Roberts of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; by four sisters, Geneva Hesseling of St. Louis, Missouri, Juanita Ohmos of Kansas City, Missouri, Louise Ayers of St. Louis, Missouri, and Betty Chitwood of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; by thirteen grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.

Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Glen Roberts and Harold Roberts.

Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter from 4:00 until 8:00 P.M. Tuesday May 18, 2010. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday May 19, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. at the Second General Baptist Church in Dexter with Rev. Josh Carpenter and Rev. Phil Warren officiating. Interment will follow in the Bloomfield Cemetery at Bloomfield, Missouri.
