Marie St. Clair, daughter of the late Doug Barnfield and Frona Sifford Barnfield, was born on March 3, 1917 at Idlewild and died on May 26, 2010 at Cypress Point Skilled Nursing in Dexter at the age of 93.

She attended the Friendship Baptist Church in Dexter, was a home-maker, and a resident of Dexter.

On December 5, 1936, she was united in marriage to Chester St. Clair in Puxico. Mr. St. Clair preceded her in death on Dec. 7, 1986.

Survivors include three daughters, Vesta Bockenkamp of House Springs, Wanda Myers of Dexter, and Phyllis Ford of Aurora; two brothers, Benton Barnfield of Dexter and Floyd Barnfield of Greenville; three sisters, Ruth Lewis of Banbridge, Ohio, Helen Kitchens of Dexter, and Martha Waller of Bunker Hill, Ill.; seven grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Earl Barnfield and Ferl Barnfield; and by one sister, Anna Esary.

Visitation will be held at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter from 5-8 p.m., Friday, May 28, 2010. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 29, 2010 with Rev. Lonny Mittag and Rev. Vic Suhany officiating. Interment will follow in the Hagy Cemetery.
