Myrtle Margaret Hubenthal

Myrtle Margaret Hubenthal, daughter of the late Samuel Scott and Ethel Branson Scott, was born on June 5, 1917, in Waynesville and died on June 1, 2010, in the Cypress Point Skilled Nursing Center in Dexter at the age of 92.

Mrs. Hubenthal was a homemaker, was endowed with a sharp memory, enjoyed cooking, sewing, and making clothing items for herself and family. Over the years she became an avid bowler. While in Michigan she won several ladies championships and mixed doubles championships with her husband in the Senior Olympics. They competed nationally and won the national mixed doubles championship in 2005.

On Aug. 27, 1943 she was united in marriage to Earl Hubenthal in St. Louis,. Mr. Hubenthal survives of the house in Dexter.

Besides her husband, survivors include one son, William Hubenthal, Sr. and wife Rosemary of Carbondale, Ill.; three grandchildren, William Hubenthal, Jr., Sherri Hubenthal, and Laura Savorgino; and many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Robert Hubenthal.

Visitation will be held at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter from 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 2, 2010.

Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, June 3, 2010, at 2 p.m. in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter.

Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
