Janet Sue Lohr, 77, of Cape Girardeau died Tuesday, June 1, 2010, at Heartland Care and Rehab in Cape Girardeau.

She was born May 28, 1933, in Sikeston to Hugh David and Gladys Beatrice Swinney Stewart .

She taught music and art at Chaffee, Poplar Bluff, Central Jr. High School, and Schultz School. She was a booster club member at Southeast Missouri State University for many years. She was a 25-year member of Chapter JN of P.E.O. and served as a past president. She was a devoted member of Abbey Road Christian Church and was a longtime choir member as well as choir director.

Survivors include sons, David Lohr and wife, Connie of Olathe, Kan. John Lohr and wife, Julie of Cape Girardeau; grandchildren, Luc Helwege, Allison Lohr and Sara Lohr.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, June 4, 2010, at Ford & Sons Mt. Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 5, 2010 at Abbey Road Christian Church in Cape Girardeau with the Rev. Rodger Kiepe officiating.

Burial will follow at the Sikeston Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston.

Memorial contributions may be given to Alzheimer Association, Abbey Road Christian Church, or Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
