Ramona Forkum, daughter of the late John Vaughn Lowery and Ellis Irene Perry Lowery, was born on Nov. 27, 1934, in Stoddard County and died in the Missouri Southern Healthcare at Dexter on June 19, 2010, at the age of 75.

Mrs. Forkum attended the Bernie Church Of Christ, was a former brim roller for Paramount Hat Company in Dexter, and a resident of rural Bernie.

She was united in marriage to Carrol Forkum on July 11, 1951, at Bloomfield. Mr. Forkum survives of the home near Bernie.

Besides her husband, she is survived by one son, Michael Lynn Forkum of Dexter; two daughters, Carol Roberts and Niki Evans, both of Dexter; three brothers, Ronald Lee "Bud" Lowery of Bernie, Dale Leonard Lowery of Clarksville, Tenn., and Robert Dean Lowery of Glennie, Mich.; one sister, Delores Ann Wood of Twas, Mich.; four grandchildren, Jay Roberts of Jackson, Tennessee, Derek Roberts of Springfield, Missouri, Amanda Forkum of O'Fallon and Casi Evans of Dexter; one great-grandchild, Nolan Alden Krieg of O'Fallon.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Carrol Dean Forkum; and one brother, Donald Lowery.

Visitation will be held at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday, June 22, 2010.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, June 24, 2010, in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Curtis McClard officiating.

Interment will follow in the Bethany Cemetery near Campbell.
