Jean McFarlen, daughter of the late Ernest Jennings and Leora Jarrell Jennings, was born on Nov.19, 1924, in rural Dexter and died on June 24, 2010 ,at her residence in Dexter at the age of 85.

Mrs. McFarlen was a member of the First General Baptist Church in Dexter where she was a Sunday school teacher and active in church mission work; and she was a resident of Dexter.

She was united in marriage to T.J. McFarlen on Feb. 4, 1947 in Dexter. Mr. McFarlen survives of their home.

Besides her husband she is survived by three sons, Maurice McFarlen, Larry Gene McFarlen and Gary Dean McFarlen, all of Dexter; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by one brother, Earl Jennings.

Visitation will be held at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Sunday, June 27, 2010 from 12 noon. until 2 p.m.

Funeral services will then be conducted at 2 p.m. on June 27, 2010, in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery with Rev. Kenneth Biggs officiating.
