Curtis Wilbur Lowery, son of the late Elisha and Mary Floyd Lowery, was born in Boynton, Ark. on Oct. 10, 1914, and died at his home in Dexer on July 1, 2010, at the age of 95.

He had lived in Phoenix, Ariz. and Loredo, Texas before moving to Dexter in 1997. He was a retired truck driver.

He was married to Norma Jean Trotter Ezell in 1997.

Surviving are his wife, Norma Jean Ezell Lowery, of Dexter; two sons, Vernon Dale Lowery of Marion, Iowa, and Charles Lowery of Phoenix, Ariz.; one daughter, Christine Bowser of Sun City West, Ariz.; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren; two brothers, Robert "E.J." Lowery of Phoenix, Ariz., and James Lowery of Arnold; and one sister, Thelma Crause of Poplar Bluff. Other relatives and friends survive. He was preceded in death by one son, Gene Lowery; two sisters, Robbie and Elenora; and one brother: Basil.

Visitation will be Tuesday, July 6, 2010, from 10-11 a.m. at Watkins & Sons Funeral Service in Dexter.

Services will be held Tuesday, July 6, 2010, at 11 a.m. in the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter with the Rev. Kenneth Biggs of Dexter officiating.

Interment will be in the Dexter Cemetery in Dexter with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
