Samuel Ray Williamson, son of the late Jacob Williamson and Edna Grubbs Williamson was born on Feb. 7, 1937 in Parma and died on July 20, 2010 at the Golden Living Center in Bloomfield at the age of 73.

Mr. Williamson was a retired contractor, a member of the Masonic Lodge in Bell City and a resident of Bloomfield.

He was united in marriage to Wanda Alberta McCormick on June 20, 1959 in Dexter. Mrs. Williamson preceded him in death on March 27, 2007.

Survivors include two sons, Kerry Williamson of Bloomfield and Kevin Williamson of Youngstown, Ohio; one daughter, Michelle Nall of Bloomfield; two brothers, J. L. Williamson of Poplar Bluff and Dale Williamson of Benton, Texas; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Besides his wife and parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Jerry Williamson and Gene Williamson and by two sisters, Genevieve Jackson and Fredia Green.

Visitation will take place at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home on Friday, July 23, 2010 from 4 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter with Rev. Dwight Hensley officiating.
