Kennett's Trey Bazzell received the honor along with being named to the first team. Bazzell says that he's honored to receive this recognition. "Making Bootheel All-Conference is a great honor. All my high school career I have strived to make Bootheel Conference, especially since it was being my senior year. I worked a lot harder to get better than I did the previous years because I wanted to get conference player of the year and to get that is a awesome feeling. I couldn't have made it without the help of Coach New and Coach Lew and especially the help of my teammates."
The players making the all-conference include: Trey Bazzell, Clayton Gibbons, Adam Grantham and Andy Lack from Kennett. Heath Horvath, Matt Fouts, Zack King and Exon Moncada from Senath-Hornersville. Jordan Carter and Tyler Thompson from South Pemiscot. Blakley Cook, Jordan Gregory and Tanner Murphy from Malden. Caden Robbins and Lee Wallace from Portageville.
Those making the conference's honorable mention list include: Logan Dollins from Kennett, Kevin Crouch and Cameron Lincks from South Pemiscot, Cody Samples from Portageville and Brody Elder and Brad Goliday from Malden.
Kennett head coach Aaron New and Malden head coach Tim Harmon were selected at co-coaches of the year in the conference.
Here is what some of the players had to say about receiving these honors:
Heath Horvath: "Anytime I get recognized for playing baseball , I am honored. I love the game and I love where it has taken me. I'm really looking forward to playing college baseball."
Logan Dollins: "It feels great making the All Conference team. I just want to thank my coaches and all of my teammates for having a great baseball season."
Jordan Carter: I feel honored to get this award. It's the second year in a row I've received it and it just feels great to receive a award like this. It makes me just keep competing and going hard on the diamond behind the plate."
Tyler Thompson: " It is an honor to make the Bootheel all-conference team and be recognized along with so many other great players."
Andy Lack: "It's a great honor and accomplishment, but I feel like I could have not gotten this award if it wasn't for great coaches and teammates. "
The DDD would like to congratulate these young men on successful seasons and for earning these awards.
