Cletus Shipman

Cletus Shipman, son of Charles and Edith Jones Shipman of Bloomfield, was born on May 24, 1947 in St. Louis and died on Aug. 10, 2010 in the St. Francis Medical Center at Cape Girardeau at the age of 63.

Mr. Shipman was a former supervisor at Purolator Filter Company in Dexter, a former driver with Hart Transport in Dexter and a resident of rural Bloomfield.

Besides his parents he is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Scott and Julie Shipman of O'Fallon and Darrin and Lana Shipman of Bernie; one daughter, Ashley Shipman of Las Vegas, Nev.; three brothers, Larry and wife Jan Shipman of Dexter, Ronnie Shipman of Phoenix, Ariz., and Donnie and wife Laurie Shipman of Dexter; two sisters, Charlotte Clark of Dexter and Janice and husband Jay Asbell of Ozark; by five grandchildren, Darri Shipman, Megan Shipman, Sarah Duvall, Cameron Shipman and Isaiah Duvall; and by five great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Thursday, Aug. 12, 2010 from 5-8 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, Aug. 13, 2010, at 10:30 a.m. in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Stan Dauck officiating.

Interment will follow in the Hagy Cemetery.
