Matthew Leslie Jaynes, 34, of Chaffee, died Saturday, Aug. 14, 2010, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. He was born Jan. 27, 1976, in Sikeston to Ronald and Betty Newton Jaynes of Chaffee. He graduated from Chaffee High School in 1994 and Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau and had been a registered nurse at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center. He was a member of the Bread of Life Church in Jackson where he was very active in the church's outreach program. He was a former member of the Sikeston Jaycees. He married Catina Lawrence of Dexter on Aug. 4, 2000, in Piggott, Ark.

He is survived by two sons, Easton Herrell of Jackson and Ryker Jaynes of Dexter; one daughter, Anney Rose Jaynes of Dexter; a special friend, Tammy Long of Jackson; two brothers, Mark Jaynes and Grant Jaynes, both of Chaffee; three sisters, Brooke Jaynes of Cape Girardeau, Ramona Cox of St. Louis and Ronda Marshall of Ashville, N.C.; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Timothy Heacox Jaynes on July 27, 2008.

A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 19, 2010, at the Bread of Life Restoration Center in Jackson with Greg King officiating. Nunnelee Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements. A memorial fund has been established in memory of Matthew Jaynes at Montgomery Bank, One Montgomery Bank Plaza, Sikeston, Mo. 63801.
