Rebecca Diane Polley, 50, of St. James, formerly of Dexter, was born Nov. 10, 1959, at Advance, the daughter of Frank and Wilma Griswell Bowen and died Aug. 13, 2010, at the Golden Living Center in St. James.
Rebecca had been a waitress at KFC, Hickory House and Wendy's, all in Dexter.
Survivors include her father Frank Bowen of Portageville and his special friend, Marie Nelson; two sons, Marine Craig S.(Sonoko) Polley of Okinawa, Japan and Matthew S. (Robin) Polley of Dexter; a daughter, Leta D. Polley of Dexter and her companion of 14 years, Michael Stroud of Cuba; two sisters, Debbie Hitchcock of Cuba and Patsy Surface of Bell City; seven grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and a friend she thought of as a son, John Parkinson of Anderson, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her mother and one sister, Sarah Bowen.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, Aug. 19, 2010 from 11 a.m. -1 p.m. at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. at the chapel. Burial will follow at Morgan Memorial Park in Advance.
