L. Geneva Evans, daughter of the late Robert Foster Davis and Geneva Atherton Davis was born on May 5, 1922 in Duarte, Calif., and died on Aug. 18, 2010 at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau at the age of 88.

Geneva lived on a small farm just outside Bloomfield for over sixty years. She was a homemaker and a loving and beloved mother and grandmother.

On June 26, 1940 she was united in marriage to Louis W. Evans. Mr. Evans preceded her in death on March 18, 1990.

Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Betty and Kenneth Dixon of Jackson; one son, Bob Evans of Pasadena, Calif.; one daughter, Barbara Evans of Bloomfield; three grandchildren, Kendra and husband Tim Ward of Dexter, Kevin and wife Laurie Dixon of Kapolei, Hawaii and Drew and wife Elizabeth Evans of Pasadena, Calif.; and by four great-grandchildren, Evan Curtis Ward of Dexter, Sydney Grace Dixon of Kapolei, Hawaii, Brittany Mathis of Dexter and Justin Ward of Dexter.

Besides her husband and parents she was preceded in death by one brother, Robert F. Davis Jr.

Visitation will be held at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Saturday, Aug. 21, 2010 from 9-10 a.m.

Funeral services will then be conducted at 10 a.m. in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Kenneth Biggs officiating. Interment will follow at Bloomfield Cemetery.

The family suggests memorials be made to the Alzheimer's Association in Mrs. Evans memory.
