Debra Algood, daughter of Violet Tracer-Cooper of Dexter and the late Carl Tracer, was born on Sept. 25, 1952 in Poplar Bluff and died suddenly on Aug. 25, 2010 at the age of 57.

Mrs. Algood graduated from Dexter High School in 1970. She retired from Malden School District as a teacher in 2005, was a member of the Stoklan Drive Christian Church in Malden, and participated as a mentor with Celebrate Recovery in Malden and Dexter. She was a resident of Dexter.

On June 30, 2001 she was united in marriage to Jim Algood in Malden. Mr. Algood survives of the home in Dexter.

Besides her husband, Jim Algood, and her mother, Violet Tracer-Cooper, both of Dexter, other survivors include one son, David T. Miller of Bernie; one daughter, Cara M. Dillinger of Bernie; one step-son, Jeremy Algood of Bernie; one brother, Carl Tracer Jr. of Colorado Springs, Colo.; one sister, Bonita Tracer of St. Charles; two grandchildren, Nate Dillinger and Alexa Dillinger, both of Bernie.

Visitation will be held at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter from noon until 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 28, 2010. Memorial services will then be conducted on Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Pastor Dan Hargrave officiating. Interment will follow in the Old Bethel Cemetery in Dexter.
